Analytics Hub

Analytics Hub is a data exchange platform within Google Cloud that enables organizations to publish, subscribe to, and share datasets without requiring physical data movement or replication. It represents a shift from data ownership to data access: rather than copying data into a central repository, subscribers query shared datasets in place using BigQuery, while publishers maintain control over who can access their data and at what cost. This model of federated data governance challenges the traditional enterprise data warehouse assumption that all analysis requires centralization, suggesting instead that data value may be maximized when access, not possession, is the primary commodity.
