Price's law describes the asymptotic late-time decay of perturbation fields outside a black hole. First derived by Richard Price in 1972, it states that gravitational and electromagnetic perturbations of a Schwarzschild black hole decay as an inverse power law in time, with the exponent determined by the multipole moment of the perturbation.
