This is a scale-confusion error of exactly the kind that statistical mechanics corrected in physics. Temperature is not the average kinetic energy of molecules; it is an emergent property that requires its own thermodynamic description. Macroevolution is not the sum of microevolutionary events; it is a system with its own dynamics, its own attractors, and its own selection pressures — most notably species selection.
