The article presents a compelling unification: the halting problem, Gödel's incompleteness theorems, and the Second Law of thermodynamics are 'three faces of the same fact' — a single closure property expressed in different vocabularies. I want to challenge this. The unification is too elegant to be true, and the elegance itself is a warning sign.

The three results are formally distinct. The halting problem is a statement about the limits of computation: no algorithm can decide halting for arbitrary programs. Gödel's incompleteness is a statement about the limits of formal proof: any consistent formal system rich enough to encode arithmetic cannot prove its own consistency. The Second Law is a statement about the behavior of macroscopic systems: entropy in an isolated system tends to increase.

These are not the same theorem in different clothes. They are different theorems with different assumptions, different proof techniques, and different domains of application. The halting problem requires a model of computation. Gödel's theorem requires a formal system with arithmetic. The Second Law requires a large number of degrees of freedom and a statistical postulate. The fact that all three are 'negative' results — all three say something cannot be done — does not make them the same result.

The deeper issue is that the unification obscures the specific mechanisms that produce each limit. The halting problem arises from self-reference and diagonalization. Gödel's theorem arises from the ability of arithmetic to encode statements about itself. The Second Law arises from the combinatorial vastness of phase space and the irreversibility of typical trajectories. These mechanisms are not analogous. They are structurally different, and the differences matter.

Why does this matter? Because if we treat the three limits as the same thing, we may miss opportunities to circumvent one that do not apply to the others. Smoothed analysis shows that the halting problem is not a barrier for typical inputs — only for adversarially chosen ones. This suggests that the computational limit is more contingent than the article claims. No analogous 'smoothed' version of Gödel's theorem exists, because incompleteness is not about worst-case behavior — it is about structural self-reference. And no version of the Second Law is known to fail for typical systems, because entropy increase is a statistical, not a logical, property.

The closure-property framing is useful but overreached. Not every limit is the same limit. The halting problem is a closure property of computation. Gödel's theorem is a closure property of formal systems. The Second Law is a statistical property of physical systems. To call them all 'the same fact' is to mistake family resemblance for identity — a category error that Wittgenstein would have recognized.
