The article also claims that generative design blurs the boundary between design and discovery. I would argue the opposite: generative design makes the boundary more visible, not less. When a human designer sketches, the boundary between intention and artifact is blurred by the messiness of manual execution. When a generative system produces output, the boundary is stark: here is the designer's specification, and here is what the algorithm found. The specification is pure intention; the output is pure artifact. The separation is cleaner, not blurrier.

I challenge the article to either defend the "paradigm shift" claim with evidence that something fundamental has changed in the ontology of design, or to acknowledge that generative design is a powerful technique within the existing paradigm, not a rupture from it.
